Guadalmina is a beachside community that stradles the A7 coast road dividing it into Guadalmina Alta and Guadalmina Baja. Its west boundary runs along the Guadalmina River which is also the Marbella / Estepona boundary. Guadalmina is a mature urbanisation mostly developed in the 1980's.
