Beautiful, tranquil accommodation set in a small urbanisation, perched on the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range, 500 metres above sea level, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Just a short walk from the white-washed village of Monda in the heart of Andalucia. It’s the perfect location for total peace and tranquillity for a relaxing holiday around the pool. Enjoy the vistas of the distant mountains and lovely sunsets. You may occasionally see golden eagles, kites and rooks soaring over the valley. For sure you will see the Goat Herder and his goats.

This villa is in excellent order and beautifully presented. It has a small private front garden with lovely flowering plants leading to the main entrance. Entering into the hallway straight ahead is the spacious lounge with central fireplace and TV, although channels are currently limited. Patio doors lead to the private terrace, pool and garden. There is a sofa bed at the end of the lounge and this can be turned into a third bed for one person. This area also has folding doors to provide the occupant with privacy.

An archway from the lounge leads you to the fully fitted kitchen which has been well designed.

There are two good sized bedrooms both with fitted wardrobes, the master has a double bed with ensuite bathroom and the guest bedroom has 2 single beds and there is a guest bathroom.

The pool area is surrounded by a patio area with lovely colourful plants and garden.

The terrace and garden provide fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, village of Monda and castle. Lovely at night when it´s dark and the lights are lit. A great place to enjoy al fresco dining during the warm summer evenings.

Monda is a very traditional Spanish white village with it´s population of just a couple of thousand, is just a few minutes drive away or a short uphill walk and offers a number of restaurants, bars and small shops to buy provisions. It has a couple of good bars, who also offer small meals; Bar La Jaula and Bar Luna. Just behind Bar Luna and the old washing house is the bar/restaurant El Balcon dela Jaula and they serve excellent food. Restaurant Los Carboneros serves a great menu del dia, and the portions are massive. They also do great pizzas and tapas and a really excellent and traditional Goat dish. This typically Andalusian town with its whitewashed houses, steep and winding narrow streets, more appropriate for people on foot and donkeys, than the local cars which wind round the bends with particular skill. The facades of the houses are typically overloaded with blooming flowerpots hanging from the walls or the small balconies.
You still see old farmers crossing the square with their loaded donkeys on their way to their olive and orange groves. The surrounding fields are cultivated as they have been forever.
Monda is a lively and very real Spanish pueblo, although there are now many foreign residents who have chosen a typical Spanish environment, rather than the more cosmopolitan urbanisations located down on the costa.

Guaro is a 5 minute drive and in September, the village plays host to the incredible Moorish festival of Luna Mora, where the entire village is lit by candlelight – it really is a sight to behold. Enjoy the ambience as well as the finest food and drinks and a multitude of artisan stalls and shops selling unique jewellery, clothing and traditional artefacts.

The Surrounding Area

Whatever your interests, you will find something to suit you in the surrounding towns and villages.
* Alhaurin El Grande, a Moorish town full of shops, bars and restaurants.
* Coin, a working Spanish town, (it is 20 mins by car has a great selection of restaurants and large supermarkets)
* Mijas, an old white-washed village perched on a hillside, is a great day out with many shops, a traditional bullring and much more….
* The villages of Guaro, Ojen and Tolox are all close by where you can catch a glimpse of the real Spain and the traditional Spanish way of life.

For beach lovers, the popular seaside resort of Fuengirola is 30 minutes away with all the facilities you could ask for including shopping centres, bars and restaurants, a water park and a cinema showing English films. The fashionable beach resort of Marbella is just 20 minutes drive away and you must visit the stunning Old Town filled with boutique shops and fragrant, flower-filled squares.

For art and culture lovers, Malaga provides some stunning tourist attractions including the Picasso Museum, the Cervantes Theatre and a magnificent Cathedral. If you want to travel further there are regular buses and trains from Malaga to Granada, Seville and even Madrid.

For Golf lovers Alhaurin Golf is just 13 kms away. It consists of 18 holes par 72, designed by legendary player Severiano Ballesteros and 9-hole par 3, with great views of the Sierra de Mijas and the Mediterranean Sea. The Clubhouse offers all the standard golf services. In the SPA, players will find innovative surroundings with specific treatments, massages and a small gym.
The restaurant Hoyo 46 offers a full menu serving authentic Andalusian cuisine with international touches. For both players and non-players, enjoying its stunning terrace is a privilege.
Inside the Club we must not forget the Pro Shop, with a wide range of golfing equipment from leading brands.
The four star Alhaurin Golf Hotel & resort are near the Clubhouse and it too has a lovely restaurant, Restaurante La Ventilla is an ancient Andalusian hacienda that houses a snack bar terrace. The cafe and restaurant in turn offer regional and national cuisine as well as a wide selection of wines.

Lauro Golf is also within a 30 minute drive.

Things To Do

If you just want to relax and get away from it all then you can simply chill-out and enjoy the weather in the private garden, do a little bird watching, go horse riding or venture out for a country walk. There are walking routes nearby.

By car, there is easy road access to the Costa del Sol.

En-route to Marbella you pass El Refugio, where a superb walk to the Mirador provides stunning views over the bay of Marbella to Morocco and Gibraltar. There is also a Parador offering fine dining or light lunches.

The beautiful cities of Sevilla and Granada both are just 2 hours away or in winter you can ski in the Sierra Nevada resort.

An hour’s drive will take you to Ronda and its famous Gorge, which leads you to the gateway to the Pueblos Blancos. Or visit El Chorro and swim in the Ardales Lakes.

Gibraltar is accessible within an hour and half and if you drive a little bit further you’ll discover the unspoilt beaches of Tarifa and the Costa de la Luz.
